Relevance/rationale of the indicator (resp. why the indicator was chosen to measure the target and how it is suitable for these purposes) |
Comparison of the area share of individual tree species in afforestation/reforestation, used predominantly in artificial reforestation by planting trees, with the reconstructed natural species composition of forest stands in our territory gives a basic overview of how much it is possible to increase the stability of forest stands by planting species best adapted to habitat conditions. Next it will be done comparison with the recommended species composition, i.e. with the recommended representation of woody plants, which is a nationwide aggregation of target species stand compositions (§ 3 para. 2 letter a) ann. No. 298/2018 Coll.) set for individual natural forest areas and sets of forest types, to optimally ensure the fulfillment of production and non-production functions of forests. |

Definition |
The indicator is calculated as the share of the afforested area of individual tree species in the total area of afforestation ((forest renewal and afforestation carried out artificially, i.e. by planting and sowing), including afforestation carried out under the stand. |
